Armenian-Iranian artist Sumbat Der Kiureghian (1913-1999). Born
in the Armenian district of New Julfa of the ancient Iranian
capital Isfahan, Sumbat is the most celebrated watercolorist of
his generation. His paintings depict the lives of ordinary
people in Iran, as well as landscapes of his home country as
well as of Armenia, the United States and other parts of the
world. Particularly noteworthy are his paintings of Armenian
village life in Iran, which until recently maintained its
centuries-old traditions. The website contains more than 200
paintings organized in 11 galleries, picture albums and
biographical and bibliographical information. Limited-production
prints and note cards are available through the website. |

 first title, School Bus: a musical ride to school,
appropriate for children up to five years of age, won the Anoush
Award for Best Childrens Album of the Year at the 2005 Armenian
